We are looking for Support Workers to join our existing teams that work in the St Ives area, Cambridgeshire - £9.01 per hour (Enhancement for sleep-ins - £37.35 per night) and excellent benefits For this role, drivers are desirable but not always essential depending on the individual's needs. You will need to be flexible and able to work various shift patterns including early and late shifts, long days as well as sleep-ins for which additional payments will be made. Being a support worker at Thera is all about improving people's quality of life and helping them to be totally in the driving seat when it comes to planning and living their lives to the full. This role will be varied and not only will you become a positive role model in their lives, but you will also be supporting them with many aspects of daily living such as shopping, preparing meals, housework, and support with aspects of personal care along with numerous community-based activities and outings. They all lead very busy lives The current staff team is extremely dedicated to the people they support and between them, have years of experience. You will be able to draw on this experience and expertise if you are successful. You will also have the full support of our very 'hands-on managers' who don't just sit in an office all day All our managers are a real presence in support locations which is invaluable in creating a caring, nurturing environment for our staff teams. You must have a genuine interest in supporting people with learning disabilities and be able to clearly differentiate between care and support: the emphasis is on enabling people to do things for themselves, not doing things for them. Experience is welcome but there is no substitute for the right attitude, caring nature, and a sense of humor. We can and do provide a comprehensive induction and ongoing learning with the opportunity to complete recognised social care qualifications.
